She's an Emmy award winning blogger and one of the most hilarious women in comedy!
Sheletta works part time as a television news anchor and is a full time stay-at-home mom.
Recently, the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences presented http://sheletta.com with an Emmy Award for Best Independent Blog.
In 2007, her quick whit and southern style of humor landed her a spot in the semi-final round of Nick at Nite's Funniest Mom in America competition. Sheletta felt like she was robbed by the judges, so she's filed a police report and charges are pending. The District Attorney's investigation into the Nickelodeon "joke jacking" scandal continues....
Sheletta is a television host, radio personality and syndicated columnist.
Last year, Sheletta developed a new television program on KSTC TV called CrossRoads that focuses on the Twin Cities minority community.
She enjoys doing stand-up comedy at local clubs and has performed at Stevie Ray's in Bloomington, Arnella's in St. Paul, Acme Comedy Club in Minneapolis and Comedy Works in Denver.
She also writes as a syndicated columnists for several African American weekly newspapers across the country, including The Spokesman Recorder, The Washington Informer, and The People's Voice Weekly . Sheletta has a monthly column called “A Funny Thing Happened” and publishes a weekly soap opera entitled “As the Down Low Brother Turns”.
Sheletta is a regular monologist on Almanac, a Twin Cities Public Television weekly political program. She tackles everything from race relations to health care issues with her humorous style.
Her community involvement in the Twin Cities is far reaching. She works with a number of notable organizations, including Big Brother/Big Sister and Project Pride for Living.
Sheletta is a Houston native and graduate of University of Houston with a major in television broadcasting.
She currently lives in St. Paul, Minnesota with her husband Shawn and terribly two year old son Andrew.
