Looks like the spat between Tyler Perry and the union representing Hollywood writers is over. Tyler Perry Studios and the Writers Guild of America, West have announced they've reached agreement on a contract. Playing go-between was the head of the NAACP Hollywood Bureau. Perry says he's happy with the deal and looks forward to working with the writers who are part of the guild. Things haven't always been this cozy between the two sides. Recently, when Perry opened his new studio complex in Atlanta, the event was protested by members of the guild, who were dissatisfied at the state of the contract talks at the time.
Beyonce's new album is off to a fast start -- again. Her double-CD package "I Am ... Sasha Fierce" has made its debut at number one. SoundScan reports it sold 482,000 copies in the U.S. That marks the third straight album Beyonce has released that made its debut at number one. Her 2003 solo debut, "Dangerously in Love," and the 2006 release, "B-Day" also were sales leaders in their first weeks at retail.
Thanksgiving is a definitely a time for family and food -- except if you're scheduled to work. And because Allen Iverson made himself an exception to that rule, he has dished himself up a heaping helping of trouble with his new team. He won't be starting tonight's game against the Milwaukee Bucks and may not play at all for the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons scheduled a team workout on Thanksgiving Day. But Iverson choose to stay home instead. Coach Michael Curry says Iverson will be fined for his failure to show. After the Pistons traded for Iverson, he said he'd do whatever Curry asked him to, and even made fun of his rant bout practice while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.
